The article in El Mercurio de Valpara\u00edso says that the “Vi\u00f1a del Mar 2023 Study” aims to understand the collective imagination surrounding the Garden City, in collaboration with the PUCV, the CRCP, Fundaci\u00f3n Encuentros del Futuro and Inmobiliaria Las Salinas. The director of Ekhos, Gonzalo Tapia, highlighted three things: “The first thing is that there is hope and optimism about the potential of Vi\u00f1a del Mar (…) The second has to do with the high identification with Vi\u00f1a, the rootedness and belonging (…) And thirdly, there is a tremendous challenge of how to build a roadmap in terms of an urban proposal and cultural offer that makes this promise of a tourist, sports, cultural and garden city”. However, beyond the current perception of the city, Vi\u00f1amarinos are positive about the future of their commune, since according to the survey, 58.9% of them believe that the city “will progress” by the year 2030 and 67.6% of frequent visitors agree with that statement. For his part, the president of the Regional Chamber of Commerce (CRCP), Javier Torrej\u00f3n, pointed out that “in the 1920s, Vi\u00f1a was plantations; in the 1960s it was a completely industrial city and from then on it changed to a housing theme (…) And today people want Vi\u00f1a del Mar as a tourist city.
