In relation to the letter published last Friday about the “expetroleras”, Mr. Menares’ concern is understandable. For the same reason, Inmobiliaria Las Salinas aims to join the natural progress of the coastal neighborhood through an urban project that contributes to reposition Vi\u00f1a del Mar as a reference of development and competitiveness, quality of life, commerce and national tourism, a project that means a sustainable contribution to the present and future of the city. Although almost two decades have passed since the end of operations of the former oil companies in 2004, both Copec and now Las Salinas have carried out a first stage of environmental remediation of the sands, which is fundamental to remedy the impact of a land that has more than a century of industrial activity. This process will culminate with a final cleanup phase, which will be carried out after approval of the EIA currently being processed, using a soil and water bioremediation system. Once executed, the Las Salinas neighborhood will begin a new stage of development to realize our aspiration: a modern and sustainable neighborhood, which reincorporates the natural heritage of the coastline, a place where residential, commercial, cultural and entertainment spaces coexist simultaneously; in short, a mixed-use neighborhood that is a meeting point and a connection to the sea.
