Thanks to an invitation extended by the Chilean Chamber of Construction of Valpara\u00edso, on Monday, October 8, Las Salinas presented the progress of the master plan for Barrio Las Salinas to the entity’s Architecture and Urban Planning Commission. On the occasion, Esteban Undurraga, development manager of Las Salinas, and Ricardo Labarca, general coordinator of the project, showed the updates made to the master plan thanks to the contributions generated by the community in various meetings and urban gatherings. In this regard, Esteban Undurraga emphasized that “this is a long-term project, which has between 10 and 15 years in its development, so we know that it is a project that has to be open to a constant process of evolution and open to the opinion of the communities”. During the session, in the first instance, the optimizations in terms of views and viewpoints were shown, with 3 viewpoints from Santa In\u00e9s; subsequently, it was explained how the project incorporates a large open park, thanks to the recovery of the hillside and the connection with a new park in the plan, via 19 north. Subsequently, the other two major issues that have yet to be addressed in conjunction with the community were presented: building heights, where it was emphasized that what happens in the buildings depends on the public spaces; and mobility, an area in which Ricardo Labarca stressed that “Las Salinas has the opportunity to play a role in connecting and giving viability to city projects, such as the tramway”. At the end of the presentation, the attendees asked questions, which were mainly focused on how to attract people so that the neighborhood can be used as a first home, the relationship of the project with the waterfront and the need to achieve a public-private partnership to generate a better project for the city.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"
