In an article in El Diario Financiero, reference is made to the first tender for the remediation of the Las Salinas site in Viña del Mar, where 14 consortiums representing 29 companies from 10 countries have already set their eyes on the process. This in the framework of the progress achieved when the Committee of Ministers maintained the environmental qualification for the remediation of the land in September 2022. “It confirms what we have been pointing out all this time: that this is a technique with broad scientific and technical support, which is effective in soil remediation and very safe for people and the environment. We are confident that we will be able to complete this process with levels of excellence, which is good news for Viña del Mar and an experience that could serve as a reference for the country,” said Ricardo Labarca, development manager of Las Salinas. The project, which has a total cost of US$ 55 million, will be divided into two 2.5-year stages and work is expected to begin in the second half of 2024.
