The 6 Oriente project seeks to generate the continuation of 15 Norte behind the Espacio Urbano shopping center and connect with the Alessandri ascent in Viña del Mar. This proposal dates from the time when the oil companies were still located in the sector and there was no certain prospect of urban development for Las Salinas. Thus, it is not correct when it is stated that the 6 Oriente project was designed to benefit Las Salinas, since – on the contrary – it harms the accessibility to the Las Salinas neighborhood and the integration of the neighbors with the waterfront through these lands. In other words, 6 Oriente breaks the connection between the hill and the sea, between Santa Inés and the coastline proposed by the Las Salinas project.
