With a new corporate image, renovated rooms and innovative didactic devices, the . The event was attended by dozens of people and was headed by its Executive Director, Macarena Ruiz. On the occasion, the executive said: “the objective of this project is to generate a more attractive and closer space for children, especially from the Valparaíso Region. Through the new design we seek to make the museum experience more sensitive, allowing exploration and experimentation with the senses, and to maintain a unified visual language, at the forefront of educational methodologies”. The space, which was installed in the Quinta Vergara Park in 2008, aims to encourage interest in art and creativity in children through guided tours, workshops and the creation of educational materials. Upon reaching 10 years of existence, last 2018, the Museum decided to start a new stage that. after five months of hard work, materializes. One of the main novelties was the construction of a “tunnel of the senses”, which invites to a sensory experience with audio, smells, and other didactic devices. Also included were accessible spaces for wheelchair users and tactile reproductions of works of art for the visually impaired. Gonzalo Undurraga, Community Relations Coordinator of Las Salinas attended the event and emphasized the value that this type of initiative has for the city of Viña del Mar. “The Artequín museum brings art and knowledge closer to children with a very own experiential methodology that also allows us to share with teachers valuable pedagogical tools acquired over the years. In this new iteration of the museum, the contribution to the education of new generations will be enhanced, which is excellent news for students, their families and teachers in the region,” said Undurraga.
