Much is said that the bioremediation of the Las Salinas site is a pilot project, since similar experiences have not been carried out elsewhere. Bioremediation is a successful environmental decontamination technology that is widely used in countries such as Germany, France, Italy, Spain, the United States and Canada. In Latin America, it is regularly developed in countries such as Brazil, Mexico and Argentina. However, in Chile bioremediation at industrial level is still incipient, where there is a known case of bioremediation in the city of Puerto Montt. For this reason, in order to inform, from Las Salinas we have prepared a document that gathers the main cases of bioremediation that we have been knowing throughout our research, which we want to share with all interested parties.
