Thanks to an invitation from , we attended the virtual event “Hacia Una Cultura Regenerativa” (Towards a Regenerative Culture), in order to learn about Argentine experiences regarding concrete actions for the care and recovery of the environment. According to what was discussed on the occasion, one of the main problems at the time of establishing conditions that allow cities to develop with the greatest respect for the environment is that the indicators used to measure development are more related to the economy than to the environment. In this sense, the economy is above nature and, despite the fact that science warns us about the context we are going through, we are unable to make the necessary change in awareness to take actions to reverse the deterioration we are experiencing. In this sense, the concept of sustainability has lost its contemporary relevance, it no longer solves current problems, because all the indicators for which it was born have not been overcome. The relationship between man and nature must be problematized and sustainability has not been able to do so.
