Committee of Ministers and Environmental Evaluation Commission of Valparaíso (COEVA) deliver favorable resolutions for the cleanup of Las Salinas

Publications and media

The favorable resolutions of the Committee of Ministers and the Valparaíso Environmental Evaluation Commission (COEVA) are an important step towards safely completing the reclamation of the Las Salinas site in Viña del Mar, in line with the company’s 2001 commitment. We are awaiting the resolution of the agreement reached by the Committee of Ministers to know the details. We will work rigorously and transparently to respond to the demands established by the Committee of Ministers to give the authorities and the community guarantees on the remediation process, establishing participatory monitoring processes, permanent verification of progress and maintaining scientific standards and rigor throughout the process in order to move forward in recovering this space for Viña del Mar. We hope now to initiate a process of rapprochement with the community and the authorities, understanding that the best way to recover Las Salinas is through dialogue, so that what is decided to do in the field is the result of an agreement for the benefit of the entire community of Viña del Mar.
