Concordia de Santa Inés School visits Ch.ACO Fair

Publications and media

First, as artistic guides of the “” program and then as special guests of the Ch.ACO Fair, the students of Concordia de Santa Inés School in Viña del Mar continue to get closer to the world of art. On October 14, a group of eighth grade students from Concordia Lutheran School, together with parents and teachers, made a guided visit to the main contemporary art event in our country. This ninth edition, which took place at CV Galería in Santiago, brought together 32 national and foreign contemporary art galleries, as well as an exhibition by Mil M2. After the tour, the children shared an outdoor lunch at the Bicentennial Park, where they talked about the value offered by the art world, fostering creativity, imagination and enriching the educational process. In this regard, the FAVA team noted that “the coming of Concordia Lutheran School to Feria Ch.ACO’17 was a great experience for FAVA, since this instance allowed us to continue the artistic mediation program FAVA VA! to Santa Inés and thus deepen our mission of bringing contemporary art to new generations and audiences. In this sense, this activity not only allowed us to contribute once again to the artistic education of this group of students, but also to strengthen the link between the foundation and this educational establishment located in the V region of our country. Undoubtedly, an enriching experience for all parties and, therefore, we can not fail to thank Inmobiliaria Las Salinas for extending this partnership that allowed these students to have a new look at art and culture”. The visit to Ch.ACO is in addition to the recent participation, in August, of the young people in the “FAVA VA!” program, held in Santa Inés and promoted by Fundación Fava with the support of Inmobiliaria Las Salinas; on the occasion, the students of the Lutheran School of Santa Inés were trained to act as artistic guides for the neighbors of the community. Ch.ACO 2017 This year, Ch.ACO was consolidated as one of the most outstanding cultural milestones in the region, with four sections that presented a complete panorama of the most current trends in contemporary art: Main, Focus, Planta and Nave de Ediciones. In “Main” participated galleries from Chile, the United States, Italy, Brazil, Venezuela, Peru, Argentina, Mexico, Colombia and Puerto Rico; “Focus”, meanwhile, summoned 18 artists represented by nine galleries to a dialogue on the object-subject in contemporary art and was curated by British/Venezuelan art historian Cecilia Fajardo-Hill. In “Planta” there were eight projects by young Latin American creators, chosen by national curator Carolina Castro Jorquera. Finally, “Nave de Ediciones”, in charge of editor Camila Opazo, featured 14 publishing projects from Chile, Argentina, Colombia, the United States, Italy, Mexico and Peru.
