Check out a note published by , regarding the progress of the bidding process for the consortium of companies that will remediate the Las Salinas site: The entity reported yesterday on the roadmap towards the last stage of environmental remediation of the emblematic sector of the garden city, whose fate is still under debate. According to Inmobiliaria Las Salinas, in early May the bidding for the work will be awarded among the seven international consortiums selected. After this step, progress will be made in the detailed engineering, collecting the necessary information to carry out the bioremediation, a technique with more than 40 years of worldwide application, considered ideal for Las Salinas. The entity emphasized that, together with the environmental authority, adjustments are being made to the participatory monitoring plan. In addition, an information program continues to inform the community about soil remediation in this area, which is key to the industrial stage of Viña del Mar. As for the start of the work, it is projected for the beginning of the second half of this year. It is detailed that work will be carried out for 2.5 years in the northern section, and then the process will be repeated for an equal period in the southern section, covering the 16 hectares in front of Jorge Montt Avenue. Finally, it was also announced that the work “will be carried out once the environmental proceedings have been completed and the favorable decision of the Committee of Ministers has been obtained”.
