Environmental Court rejects precautionary measure and Las Salinas reaffirms its advance

Yesterday, June 5, the Second Environmental Court rejected the precautionary measure filed against the RCA of the project that will allow the completion of the last stage of the reclamation of the land in front of Avenida Jorge Montt. On Monday, May 27, Las Salinas had filed the brief in which the reasons for requesting the rejection of the measure were based. It was indicated, among other things, that it was a presentation that not only lacks plausibility in its claim, but also reiterates facts that have already been presented and rejected previously in various instances, showing an obstructionist act, in which legal tactics have been used in an abusive manner in order to delay and block projects without a justified basis. Regarding the resolution, Las Salinas appreciates the rejection of the precautionary measure, which again reinforces the solidity and thoroughness of the remediation project in Viña del Mar, which has all the environmental approvals and will allow disposing of the soils with a safe technology for people and environmental protection. “Once again we emphasize our deep respect and confidence in the country’s environmental institutions. What the Court has reported today confirms the excellence of our project and the unrestricted compliance we have given to the requirements set by the environmental authority. We continue to promote with the same commitment as always our objective of carrying out a remediation process of the highest quality, hand in hand with the best national and international experience,” said Las Salinas’ Environmental Manager, Stephanie Rotella. Soil remediation is a permanent work in several cities around the world, which allows to make available again different spaces that played a role in the past and are ready to overcome oblivion. “With the remediation process through the bioremediation technique, Viña del Mar is at the forefront of the most demanding environmental recovery processes worldwide, with safe technology for people and the environment and with proven results that will allow reintegrating these lands to multiple city uses. For this same reason, we decided to award Séché Group as the main contractor for the project, which among its latest projects was in charge of the cleanup of all the land on which the Aquatic Center for the next Olympic Games in France was built”, added Rotella. In addition to the above, the professional commented that all the information on the cleanup process that will begin in the Paño Sur de Las Salinas in Viña del Mar is available on its website and on its social networks @somoslassalinas.
