Through collaborative work and with the aim of strengthening the links between local organizations and the communities of the territory, last Saturday, August 22, a new initiative of civic innovation in Las Salinas was launched, this time through the Creative Laboratory (LAB Creativo) that will operate for 90 days on Jorge Montt Avenue and 19 Norte, in front of Los Marineros Beach. This is the same place where the Plaza de Bolsillo operated in February and, this time, the activities will be promoted by creative organizations and collectives from Viña del Mar and Valparaíso. 12NA, Sit.Urb, Libera tu Mono and Laboratorio del Humor are the participating organizations that will be working together with the community until October, to be part of the research and generation of prototypes that provide answers and solutions to everyday issues of the territories. The Creative Laboratory is part of the civic innovation initiatives of Las Salinas and is not part of the sanitation or its preparatory stage. In this regard, he comments that “from the Plaza de Bolsillo, we were able to generate community with different groups in the Valparaíso Region. After the good reception we had, for this second cycle, we want to deepen these links with the development of creative and collaborative projects, so that the organizations convened are a bridge with new and diverse actors in the territory”. Saavedra explains that those who participate in the instance, will be part of the creation of a prototype “which is a preliminary version or experimental model of an idea, project or product. Its main purpose is to test and validate concepts, functionalities or solutions before implementing them. They are also tools to evaluate the feasibility and effectiveness of a proposal in a territory and involve the active participation of the community, so we want it to be an open place that includes all people who want to devise a better city. Although the containers where the Creative Lab organizations work are installed on the Las Salinas site, it has also been considered that it will travel to different places in Viña del Mar through an ingenious proposal that can be seen arranged in different parts of the city. In addition, at the end of the operation, the LAB Creativo will have a day of activities open to the community during the month of October.
