Las Salinas Study UC Cities Observatory

Publications and media

The Observatorio de Ciudades UC (OCUC) conducted this study to estimate the socioeconomic externalities of an urban development of the dimensions and characteristics currently proposed by the Las Salinas Master Plan (PMLS) in the metropolitan area of Valparaiso. The study evaluates the economic effect of the construction of the Las Salinas neighborhood, but more importantly, in the construction of the economy for the city. The economic benefits of a single year of operation are equal to the benefits of 10 years of construction of Barrio Las Salinas. The base project evaluated is the latest version of the SLMP, but it continues to evolve. These numbers are reflective of an urban proposal. But these results may change, as part of the project improvement process: You can review the summary of the document here.
