The Pedro Aguirre Cerda School of Santa Inés will be the protagonist of the Fava Va! intervention, in its 2018 version, a program of the Fundación de Artes Asociados (FAVA) that promotes collective artistic experiences aimed at encouraging the link between art and citizenship. In this way, the 7th grade students of this school in Viña del Mar will be introduced to the world of contemporary artistic language, providing them with tools to interpret and analyze works, which will allow them to become exhibition guides. In addition, for this year, a 3-day training session for teachers of the same school has been incorporated, so that they can add skills to improve their educational performance. The FAVA collection is composed of 18 works that map and connect different geographies at the continental level, generating a dialogue and reflection on the idea of territory and the physical and conceptual limits present in the borders of Latin America. The visit is completely free and open to the community, so the invitation is extended to the public to the opening of the event on Thursday, May 17 at 17:30 hrs. FAVA Foundation was created in 2013 with the aim of supporting research, development, promotion and dissemination of culture and visual arts; as well as contributing to the education and training of the population around art and culture. Under this premise, FAVA Foundation works around 4 axes: education, philanthropy, heritage and collecting. Since its inception, FAVA Foundation has sought to build a heritage of national and international contemporary art for the country, through the creation of the FAVA Collection: contemporary art collection that has been formed under the curatorship of the Mexican Pablo León de la Barra -current curator of the Guggenheim UBS MAP for Latin America- which since 2014 is in charge of the conceptualization and selection of the works. The FAVA VA! program is implemented in conjunction with MYRE Educación. For more information:
