Sasaki was born in Boston in 1953. Its founder, Hideo Sasaki, was a renowned architect, planner and teacher, a pioneer in interdisciplinary planning and design concepts. From its origins, he permeated the firm with a holistic vision of architecture, which states that every urban project must be approached considering its cultural, historical, geographic, environmental, social and economic contexts. Today, Sasaki Associates has a multidisciplinary team of more than 200 professionals of 35 nationalities and belonging to various fields of knowledge, which reflects its global outlook. Its specialties include a diversity of services, including architecture, interior design, planning, urban design, landscape architecture, strategic planning, civil engineering and graphic design. Some of the firm’s most notable projects include the Beijing Olympic City, the Wilmington Waterfront Park in Los Angeles and the Master Plan for the Houston Energy Corridor District, among many others. In Chile, Sasaki is leading a group of national and international specialists in the design process of the Master Plan for the Las Salinas site, which aspires to become the country’s first sustainable neighborhood.
