Schoolchildren carried out educational day at Las Salinas Plant Laboratory

Boys and girls between 5 and 12 years of age from the Meraki School visited the Las Salinas Plant Laboratory as part of the school’s summer workshops. The educational day included a presentation by Salvador Donghi, Biologist of the Plant Laboratory, who instructed the students about the native flora, the functioning of pollinators and the benefit that these natural native spaces generate in the ecosystem. They then participated in a meeting with the community relations team, who explained the bioremediation process that will be carried out in the field. “It fills us with joy to be able to share with schools and educational institutions from all over Chile. We are surprised by the level of knowledge that the children acquire after carrying out these initiatives,” commented Las Salinas’ Communications Coordinator, Pamela Saavedra. Finally, the schoolchildren received instructions on how to grow bacteria at home and were invited to the seed collection period at the Las Salinas Plant Laboratory in March.
