Following the entry of the Participatory Monitoring Plan (PMP) and after fourteen consortia expressed initial interest in carrying out the land reclamation, we made a careful selection to invite seven international consortia as candidates to carry out the work. The real estate company’s development manager, Ricardo Labarca, said in an article in El Mercurio de Valparaíso that “two elements were key in selecting the consortia: first, that they had ample and proven experience in the development and leadership of reclamation projects and, second, that they had a broad knowledge of our national reality”. He also valued as “a great endorsement for this project that the consortia, together, have an accumulated experience of more than 1,500 hectares of remediated soil, thus ratifying the effectiveness and safety of these processes”. The invited companies were Jan de Nul (Belgium); Lamor (Finland) and Excon (Chile); Litoclean (Spain) and DPC (Chile); RSK (UK) and Flesan (Chile); Séché (France) and EBCO (Chile); Veolia (France) and Echeverría Izquierdo (Chile); and Züblin (Austria) and Strabag (Germany).
