In this first week of operation, the Plaza de Bolsillo, which was designed together with the community, in conversations with creators, artists and entrepreneurs of Viña del Mar, has become a living space, of the people who carry out the workshops, activities and talks, as well as those who visit it every day. In these days through social networks and also in person, many people have approached us to see how to join the activities, because they have told us that there is a lack of open, free and outdoor spaces in Viña del Mar that offer the opportunity to make daily community from the creation, the proposal, the opportunity and in a space that is safe for people and families. We are happy to see how this proposal of Plaza de Bolsillo, which was thought as a contribution to the community of Viña del Mar and for those who visit it during the summer season, is today a space and platform where the community itself decides what happens there, in its daily programming and stands as a showcase that contributes to local creators and entrepreneurs in times when economic recovery is still a pending issue. The slate of dreams for this space, day by day is filled with messages in which people express their proposals for this land that has been in pause. The neighbors express their desires, their ideas with total freedom because they have felt this space as their own, without limitations or exclusions of any kind. As we informed the authorities in January, the Plaza de Bolsillo was proposed as a temporary space open to the public until the beginning of March. Today, seeing how it has developed and the growing interest it has awakened in the community, we believe that it is the people themselves who will mark their own times and nurture it with new experiences. The Pocket Square is a safe activity for people and respectful of the environment, as it is located on the surface of the land which, according to what has been approved by the environmental authority and audited by Fundación Chile, is clean and suitable for uses that involve the transit of people. The Plaza de Bolsillo in Las Salinas belongs to the city itself and its inhabitants, it belongs to each of the people who come every day to enjoy it and populate it with new stories.
