On August 3, 4 and 5, Fundación FAVA’s “FAVA VA!” program was installed in the town of Santa Inés, in Viña del Mar, to open to the community an exhibition of works by prominent Latin American artists that make up the FAVA Collection.
One of the main objectives of this initiative was to bring neighbors closer to art through their active participation. With the purpose of contributing to the development of the culture of the neighbors of Santa Inés and its surroundings, FAVA Foundation took the “FAVA VA!” program free of charge to the church of the Concordia Lutheran School and the Santa Inés square, to make the works of art that make up the FAVA Collection available to the community. Thanks to this program, eighth grade students from Concordia School were trained to become monitors of this exhibition, bringing art to their classmates and neighbors, allowing them to develop creativity and the ability to perform in front of mass audiences. In this context, the “Question Project” was also developed, an initiative of citizen interaction created by the Chilean collective Mil M2, which is part of the collection, with an installation in the Plaza Santa Inés at the so-called “bread hour”, where the community could reflect on the questions: What would you ask the sea? What would you ask Santa Inés? and What would you ask your city? designed specifically for this location, so that neighbors could express their concerns and desires through this project that has gone around the world. This exhibition of the FAVA Collection featured works from Chile and all over Latin America, including works by artists such as Diana Fonseca, Nicolás Franco, Francisca Benítez, and Ana Bella Geiger, among others. “FAVA VA!” to Santa Inés was supported by Inmobiliaria Las Salinas and represents a double milestone for the foundation, as it is the first time that the FAVA Collection goes out to regions, and the first experience of alliance between the foundation and a private company. The Fundación de las Artes Visuales Asociados de Chile or FAVA CHILE is a non-profit institution whose work is motivated by ideals related to art education, philanthropy, heritage and collecting. Within its various fields of action, and understanding the importance of access to the visual arts for the development of the cultural identity of all social groups that make up a geographical space, is that FAVA Foundation promotes the FAVA VA! Program, aimed at different locations in Chile, where for a few days the works of FAVA Collection are exhibited and thoughts are activated around it and each work that composes it.
