Las Salinas Environmental Monitor
We monitor the project environment every day. Here is the data.
RCA environmental variables
The RCA (Environmental Qualification Resolution) stipulates that the project must measure compounds such as PM 2.5, PM 10, and benzene, thereby ensuring that the environment remains safe for everyone.
These particles are measured by an air quality monitoring station installed on the northern side of the site, which is operated by a company certified by the Ministry of the Environment. The data presented is collected directly from the installed devices and processed automatically on a daily basis. For this reason, and considering the characteristics of the devices and environmental conditions, this data will be verified in the event of possible malfunctions or incidents.
PM 2.5 Monitoring
Fine particulate matter in the air. We measure its concentration to ensure that the ambient air remains within safe levels.
PM 10 Monitoring
Dust in the air. We continuously monitor its presence during soil remediation work.
Benzene Monitoring
An organic compound present in the soil undergoing remediation. We monitor it continuously around the project site.
Weather Conditions in Paño Sur
This information helps us understand the environmental conditions of the site and supports proper management during the remediation process.

Measures agreed upon with the community
Based on discussions with our neighbors, Las Salinas has established specific conditions for carrying out fieldwork, ensuring safety, environmental compliance, and harmony with the surrounding environment. These conditions take particular account of weather factors such as humidity and temperature, allowing us to plan and carry out various activities in a responsible and proactive manner.
Fieldwork
Some on-site activities may produce occasional odors, specifically those associated with soil handling during excavation, mixing with compost, and the formation of compost piles. We actively listen to the community and incorporate their feedback to adjust our operations as needed:

Support activities do not produce odors, which allows them to be implemented on a more permanent basis, while always complying with the provisions of the RCA:
Presence of workers on site
Backfilling of excavations
Excavations in undisturbed soil
Field monitoring
Harvesting of biobatteries
Installation of a Berlin Wall
MONITORING PLATFORM
Las Salinas, Viña del Mar

Sealed mounds of sand containing contaminated soil that is treated on-site.

The piles of soil to be treated are covered with a double geomembrane overnight to minimize any disturbance to the surrounding area.

Devices that generate a fine mist of water to trap airborne particles, improving air quality and preventing disturbances in the surrounding area.

An area-wide environmental monitor that detects gases, providing continuous air quality monitoring. Protecting workers, the environment, and the community.
Water trucks that keep the surface wet to prevent dust from rising
A small device that workers carry as part of their safety equipment, detects hazardous gases and immediately alerts a control center, protecting both the worker and the environment.

Airventilation and filtration system designed to capture, convey, and purify contaminated or odorous air in the workplace, purifying the air before releasing it.
Transportation of materials in covered trucks to prevent evaporation, equipped with engines that reduce emissions and noise.

Monitoring stations

Monitoring campaigns
Our expert teams conduct regular inspections in the area
- Scent Campaign
On-site and surrounding area monitoring, where people with a trained sense of smell identify and record odors to monitor for potential emissions.
- Sampling of biobatteries
Sampling from bio-cells to analyze and monitor the progress of soil remediation.
